Lorena Galeano Dance educator · Performer · Researcher Bern & Zürich

My body is at once an archive, a tool, and a language.

I have been dancing, teaching and researching for over 25 years — rooted in classical oriental dance, ballet, and dance studies at the University of Bern. My work moves between two poles: the scholarly curiosity about ritual, embodied knowledge, and cultural context — and the musical intuition that in oriental dance is not accompaniment, but origin.

As a performer, I work through improvisation — in dialogue with the music, whether I’ve mapped a structure in advance or let the score decide in real time. As a teacher, I guide each dancer toward their own form of expression. As a certified PBT instructor, I bring conditioning and body awareness into the studio — across styles, across bodies.

I teach regularly in Bern and Zürich — group classes, private sessions and workshops — through KörperTanz: body conditioning, technique and expression as a single practice.
